Longest lasting colored finish?

I couldn't really decide where to put this since I don't make knives but I need to make a decision. I want to know what type of a blade finish would last the longest. The type of finish though would have to be some kind of coating like DLC (which I know has a reputation for being pretty durable). Lastly what would the coating on a spectrum colored knife be called and how durable is it (say compared to DLC). Ex. http://www.bladehq.com/imgs/butterfly-knives/bradley-butterfly/kimura-rainbow.jpg
(not to advertise or anything...)

I believe that is what is called titanium nitride, those who are more knowledgeable please correct me if wrong. It is a non painted coating. The only coating I would recommend would be Cerakote or that gun coat (forgot the name). Sorry I could not help more.

ok....I work with Cerakote, DuraCoat and Gun Kote. Well...not with gun Kote anymore.

Out of those 3 Cerakote hands down is more durable. However, DLC from what I have read is pretty amazing stuff. I have not worked with it so I can't say first hand. I will say that if you are getting a knife coated then DLC has got to be more expensive. The equipment alone is crazy expensive to the point that a small shop like mine could never afford to offer it.
