What the longest you've had to wait for a production knife? I ordered my Emerson Commander through a distributor and am going on 3 months wait now.

I was very impatient the first 2 months but it's not so bad now. All I can do is wait, have no choice.

So if you had a production knife on order for that long would you cancel it or be patient enough to wait a few months?

As a sidenote, I am by no means going to cancel my order. I will patiently wait.

Good Evening Everyone-

BOK, I'm approaching four months for a Busse Pepper Shaker to arrive via UPS.

Originally informed it would be a three to six week wait, but I would rather they take their time at the factory and make sure the knife is flawless. The wait almost makes it more fun!

Good Luck...

i wouldn't wait more then a week! i hate waiting for stuff and I expect the knife i order to be in my doorsteps within the week. I'm currently pissed off cause my spyderco chinese folder hasn't come yet and it's been over a week

Well, I waited 15 MONTHS for my 2000 wood inlay Sebenza with Damascus blade. All due to problems that were totally out of the control of CRK. The knife was well worth the wait however and I still love it. The worst part was having all that cash on hand and not being able to spend it on something else :(

My first Randall, a customized Model 2 back in about '81, I had a 2 year wait. Unfortunately didn't have the internet back then, so if you couldn't find what you wanted at a knife show or magazine/newspaper ad, you pretty much had to order directly from Randall.

Ohmygod!! 15 months?? 2 years?? That's nuts...I thought people were only willing to wait that long for a custom knife.

Well looks like I'll be in for quite the wait then.

I had to wait for nearly two months for a Sebenza to be refurbished. As it had been sent in by the previous owner, and was to be delivered to me, the new owner, I really have no complaints. It was a little hard, once I new it was just about to be sent, and there was another delay. It was worth the wait, though. When (and if) I am able to order a custom, I think I may just loose my mind, if I have to wait as long as 2years!

Make it four months and counting for a small "Stars and Stripes" Sebenza from CRK. Large demand coupled with a batch of bad titanium accounts for the wait. Worth the wait though!

I am suprised no one has mentioned Marble's. I've been trying to get one for two months. I canceled the first order after one month because the dealer wouldn't answer my inquiries about it.

Now I have been waiting for another month for a Marble's Ideal. At least this time the dealer is honest and has told me the difficulty internet dealers have in getting Marble's knives. He has also put forth alot of effort in trying to get the Ideal for me. I just have to put in a plug for this dealer - it's Dirt Cheap Knives.

I waited 2 years for a Seecamp, but I knew it would be that long.

In the last two months I've been waiting on a BG42 Buck/Strider Solution and a CUDA Maxx.

I finally cancelled those orders and spent the money on a GB which should be here tomorrow.

I HATE to wait!!

It's going on 2 weeks now and it's freaking me out. I was told when I originaly placed the order on June 26th that it would ship in July. At first I thought I was reading it wrong, but no, it simply said July. Oh well, waiting is suppose to be half the fun right?

If you are an Al Mar fan, you waited about two years for the SERE Operator to come from "soon" to production. By that time, I unfortunately did not want one any longer.

...need I say more?

Hey Parker, how's it hanging bud?

Never waited more than a couple of weeks, and that was from U.S. dealers. I never ordered anything that wasn't in stock.

I think the current lead time for a Randall directly from the factory is around 36 months?

There have been periods of time (especially around times of war, which could explain the current 3 years) that Randall has had a waiting period of up to 7 years.

Keith,

I guess ordering only knives that are in stock will ensure fast delivery, but in the case of Marble's it can be hard to find an internet dealer with what you want "in stock". When you do find someone who has the model you want, the price is likely to be higher than others advertise.

W.T., I know that dealers are having a terrible time getting Marble's knives right now. That is areal shame, people are not going to wait forever to get a knife from this company. Not with so many other fine manufacturers around. You may want to give Blackjack Knives a look.

Hello Keith,

Those Blackjack Knives are a good alternative to the Marble's brand. I own two Blackjack Knives already. There is a store in a nearby town that has them for lower prices than I see on the internet.
Some are remaining stock from the original Blackjack company, and some are the new ones.

The Marble's I have seen for sell on the internet are mostly the older 52100 models, offered at inflated prices. Alot of people seem to think the new steel used in Marble's knives will not be as good.

I guess I am one of the few who likes the new Marble's knives better. It is because of the longer guards on the new models. I never wanted the older ones due to the short guards on all but the Gamegetter versions.

But it doesn't really matter what changes have been made, when
it is so hard to get the damned things. Last week I was looking to buy a new utility knife. Were it not for the availability problem, I would have ordered a Marble's Sport. Instead I ordered a Norweigian laminated blade knife, because I did not want to go through the hastle of trying to get the Sport.
