I guess it is about time I posted some pictures of a knife. I have been lurking in the background for quite awhile, just reading and learning from you all. This is I think, knife #7 for me.

The knife is for an upcoming raffle for a muzzloader forum I belong to. The "Traditional Muzzloading Association" will be celebrating there 5 year anniversary. A member is making a custom flintlock rifle. Another member is making a shooting bag, and I was asked to make a knife for the occassion. Tickets will be available thru several magazines, and gun shows this year.

Details:

I was looking for an aged, antique look...what do you think?

Blade is 1/8" thick O-1, O.A.L. 12" with about a 7" blade. Edge hardened to 60Rc. The spine has an opposing arrowhead filework design.
Osage Orange scales, brass pins, and poured pewter bolster, and scale design finish is boiled linseed oil.

I am open to any comments, and suggestions, especially were improvements need made.

what's your name?

Good looking and well executed knife.
Very creative with the poured pewter bolster.
#7, impressive.

Brian, I love everything about that knife! The spanish notch is very cool, and the "Ball" handle! I would like to see the sheath too!

Thanks for all the replys.

I will not be making a sheath for this knife. I am sending the knife to another member of the TMA that does leatherwork. He is making a shooting bag for the raffle as well.

^I agree.
Last name? I'm assuming it starts with 'J'?:D

thank you. I'm putting together a little 'virtual collection' for next year:D.

Very nice, I would like to learn about that poured pewter thing, could you do a WIP, or point me.
