Sorry, no use review at this point. I wanted to just give some clear, as from the factory and before use photos of what to expect from an SK! 2nd. As I said before, I cannot for the life of me find a fault. I haven't removed the scales, maybe it's under there. The finish of the blade and handle, the fit of them, and even the logos appear perfect to me. I also wanted to show how beautiful the natural canvas micarta is on a bare steel blade. It looks a lot like wood. As well, the FDE sheath looks great and is superb. Here's the pics.

Guy must have better eyesight or some extra sense compared to us mortals :D

Guy must have made up the term "factory second". Anyone else would call it a "pay full price, sucker!".

I got to play with the 4.1 for a few minutes yesterday. I grabbed a piece of wood from an esparanza plant I trimmed back last winter. This wood had gotten really hard. I tried making some curls and tried to do some parts of a "try stick". I was going by memory and left a lot out. I couldn't work too long because I'm recovering from a really nasty shoulder surgery. Anyway, the 4.1 worked really well. Push cutting this stuff was hard, but it did it. It sliced very well and could remove a good amount of wood. It also did very well at cutting curls. This wood doesn't curl well, as I've learned from earlier attempts, but the 4.1 did a good job with it. I found if I could slice as I cut, this blade cut like a laser.

The handle felt great and the tip was easy to use. The way the tip is situated makes using it very intuitive. It's where you expect it to be, if that makes sense. I even did some light chopping to shorten the Try Stick. When cutting the notches, I tried to be rough on the edge and pry pieces off sideways. After everything, the edge appeared untouched. It was as sharp as when it arrived. It's a great knife. To have a "survival" knife this light and handy is really nice. It seems it would handle anything my ESEE Laser strike would, but in a lighter more compact package. I haven't batonned it through a log, but I've seen Guy do enough to know the blade will easily do it. I'm thrilled with this knife:) Here's a few pics:

Dude, this is awesome. You did some nice wood work there and I'm glad you love the knife so much!
