Look at my new Tracker Knife...pics

Here is my new tracker made by my longtime friend and custom knife maker. He took some photos I gave him and came up with this masterpiece.


It is 01 tool steel. What should I put on the blade to keep it from rusting? I plan on using this alot. I thought of taking the handles of and having the blade parkerized. Should I do that?

Yes. Beck made them origionally. Topps makes a mass produced one. I took pics of a Beck and had him come close, but not as much to copy it. I saw the movie and did some research. I had to have one. I put the order in 2 years ago. Now today, I finally picked it up. He tapered the tang to give it better balance. I can't stop handling it.

i like the blade on that one more then the one on the tops knives, more elegant, looks less like a rhino more like a tiger.

nice lookin' knife for sure! It looks like it could be alot better for defensive use than most Tracker types also.

I like how the handles shaped too. Any hotspots when chopping with it?

Really nice knife. I don't like the handle color or style as much, it's too new-age to match the primal design of the rest, but hey whatever blows your hair back I'd prefer a simple cord-wrapped steel or something, but that's me.

Is your friend a prominent maker, or just a smalltime guy? It looks like he does really good work.

I like this design a lot more than the fatter TOPS knife style. Nice pick!
