I bought this knife used and tonight I noticed that the lock up look engaged too much. What do you think?

Mine will move into a "more locked" position under cutting stress, but not that much. I'd say as long as it's solid, it's probably still ok, but getting close to a Spa trip.

Iv got a small like that. And im happy. But ypu can try turning the blade stop bushing 180 degrees and the pivet bushing 45-180 to see if it helps if not send it back and have them put in a thicker stop bushing or look on the bright side it wont close by accident.

I wouldn't worry about as long as it's solid.

My Lg. Insingo looks almost the same and it works fine.

Nothing to worry about there. Once the lockbar moves all the way to the other scale, then send it in to Chris, and he will straighten it out for you. But, if it really bothers you, I have some knives up for trade. . . .

Both of the brand new in box small sebenzas (BRAND SPANKING NEW) had a lock up that is exactly the same as that, so I wouldn't worry. My large inlaid sebenza had a lockup that locks up extremely early, figure it will take me and my sons life time for it to finally touch the other slab.... really :D

Mine was very similar when purchased new. Sebenzas don't travel as quickly as a Strider or Emerson.

Michael,
Both my new annuals are 75 percent plus, I have come to the conclusion the deeper the better as long as there is no blade play. I think yours looks fine......

On a second look, BBQ, that thing is totally defective and worthless. . . .
But I'll save you the trouble and take it off your hands. . . .

Lockup spec for Sebenzas is 50-75% engagement (I think there should be a sticky with this as a title).

So, yours is out of spec.

However, I agree with eveyone else that it's nothing to worry about--that's gotta be as secure a lockup as you're going to find. If it goes farther, send it in.

Lockup is fine!
Lockup is fine!
Lockup is fine!
It can also be fine at 40 to 50 %.
I usually have a hard time unlocking at over 75%. My thumbs are not that strong. It's a long way pushing that lug over. Fortunately all of mine are earlier. It would NOT be fine for me.
