I just discovered an AWESOME maker who lives near by!!!

His name, Dale Reif. Drknives@aol.com Check out these knives!!! Beautiful eh? Well, we started BS'n about my dream knife, and he agreed to make it to my EXACT specs at an incredible undisclosed amount!!! Check out those art knives, and tell me that it's common for a guy like this to take my order!!!

I'll probably have it in 3 weeks even!!! I requested:

- 3 1/2" BG-42 blade
- .130 size blade stock
- 1200 grit flats
- 1500 grit bevels
- clip point, semi-hollow / flat grind
- 1/16" jeweled Ti. fileworked liners, anodized dark purple with gold highlights on edges.
- fileworked Ti. 1/2 - 3/4 back spacer
- 1/4" pivot
- Ti. clip!!!
- 1200 polished Ti. bolsters
- high grade carbon fiber scales

This baby is going to be AWESOME!!!

He's doing it to match a "drawing" of my top secret dream knife!!! He'll also use damn near ANY blade steel you wish...even custom damascus!!!

Wel, next is a knife for my girlie friend of almost 5 years.

The way these knives look the prices are not bad.If I did'nt have so many bills,I'd be on the phone with him right now.

YOU ARE GONNA LOVE IT! I just got my Reif Persian the beginning of this week (just posted picture link in the Custom section--check it out!). Dale does a great job, and he was very helpful with suggesting options.
 
Funny thing, he just returned my E-mail today regarding my inquiry. I was looking for someone to grind a custom damascus drop point to replace the blade in my mini-Stryker. He said he would be happy to do it and basically gave me my choice of damascus patterns and makers. A little file work on spine would look nice also. Great price and heres the kicker - FIVE DAY TURN AROUND! Looks like a winner!
 
AWESOME!!! His Persian looks GREAT!!! Wonder why he doesn't name his knives...now I have to name mine. Maybe it's because he done't make that many of one kind. Any suggestions? James, what do you think?

Adam, if this is the fulfillment of your fondest wishes, how about Marid. A Marid is the most powerful of the five orders of Genies, and that seems like what it would take to make you happy. Check it out in the Encyclopedia Mythica.

Jackyl, I'll lend my mind to it, but it is kind of hard without any details on blade and handle pattern (hint, hint), but since this is a "top secret dream knife" I'll just have to let my imagination run wild

Hey, if anyone gets a folder from Dale, could you post how does it feel in handling compared to say, CR, MT, BM, ... etc. knives?

Sorry jeegeet, the "Marid" won't be compaired to any BM, MT, or other...I think it'll be compaired to Elishewitz, Darrel Ralph, and Ken Onion.
