Here's a picture of a swisstool spirit after a little time on a lansky knife sharpener. It took a little elbow grease but notice there are no serrations.

Oh... OK
I use a Spyderco 204 Sharpmaker, it's great for serrations. I just purchased a Victorinox GAK/OHT & ran the serrations across the med white stones a few times. It's now wickedly sharp.

Taker Easy :)

I don't see how making it a plain edge would make it less useful. I mean it would all come down to what times of materials you find yourself cutting most often.

Tsquare, is that the full size picture? Its kind of hard to see what it looks like.

Edit: I don't know if you would be interested now but I have seen a new "S" model Spirit on ebay with a typical style plain edge blade.

I actually don't mind the serrations as I always have a non-serrated knife (or four) with me anyway.

Same here. I always have a plain edge Spyderco on me which is what I use 95 percent of the time. Thats one reason I really like the Spirit b/c there isn't any wasted space for me. But if I wanted to carry just a multi-tool without a pocket knife it would probably really annoy me.

Very true.
To me, a multi tool is something you have "just in case" That being said, I can cut most things with a PE, but I can cut anything with a SE.

Just my $.02
