1095, copper and rosewood.

The photography, particularly the first pic, has a surreal quality to it.

There is a lot of torus going on, I like the subtle reference in the blade.

Something I like about your work is it rewards the viewer with an interest in composition and details.

It's a weather vane?!?!?!? For your finger????

Your mind doesn't work like regular people's minds, does it? ;-)

Something I like about your posts is it usually rewards the reader with a new "word for the day"

Nathan hit the nail on the head. He knows of my fixation on the torus form. My father did a series of sculptures based on the torus years ago. I guess they inspired me. It's considered one of the most difficult forms to sculpt,... but really not that difficult to fabricate from round copper wire. I was working more with toroidal segments and shapes derived from the torus, but used the torus more literally on this one.

Tai, I remember looking at this blade when you first profiled it. I see a knife that would be extremely hard to knock from one's hand once the index finger is through the ring. Just big enough to be one mean be-o-tch in a self defense situation!

I can almost hear the TV pitch now...

"Cuts through clouds and can still slice a tomato paper thin"
