We went looking for a couple of nightstands at a flea market this morning. This ain't a nightstand, but it's at home in my office now getting ready to house all my knives. Solid wood with a nice cherry finish, undamaged except for one small scratch on the top and that little area under the lock. Size overall is 11" d x 16" h x 24" w. There are three full width bottom drawers, 6 half-width drawers, and a full-width 2 1/2" deep top section. All hardware is good and undamaged and all the drawers are undamaged and fully functional. The bottoms have a felt-like material in them. It was marked "Toolbox" in the flea market stall. Don't know what it was originally, but it's a knife condo now. :D

damn that's nice :D since $50 will buy that do you accept paypal? hehehe. really nice score there man that's what I would want for mine.

Nice score, I would have grabbed that in a second.
You could line the drawers with fleece or other material for perfect knife storage.

Put some felt down. It will look nice while protecting your knives. :)

Don't know what it was originally...

Jewelry chest?

I'd be more than a little concerned that it doesn't lock.

...now getting ready to house all my knives.

All of your knives?

I guess you don't have many NIB Becker or Bark River knives then. :D
The drawers have to be at least 4" tall to hold those puppies. Takes a pretty durable cabinet to hold the weight too. I went with a 42" Craftsman tool cabinet. ;)

I have one like it for my EDC knives. Works good... until you fill it up :)

Thanks for the views and comments. Yeah... I've had a self-imposed limit to acquiring knives that restricts me to what I could store in the black mesh office basket that I had in my closet. Should have said the chest will store all my knives that don't get carried some each week. Those all have space in the bedroom where they stay ready for... whatever. Now I have room for a few more "acquisitions". Since I stick with folders and smaller FBs, I've got room to acquire a couple more FBs and a few more folders. I do have 3 Bark Rivers that get carried and used (and I'm scouting around for an M4 Essential). One whole drawer is committed to Alan Davis' FBs that he's made for me. My wife has claimed my BK14 for her art studio and my Izulas get carried too often to stay in the chest. My Rodent 3 hangs in the closet on the paracord sheath lanyard I made since it gets used so much. If I take the spare ammo and flashlight batteries out of the top, I could add even more knives up there.

The drawers do have a soft fuzzy finish to them, sort of like felt. There is a twist tab lock on the top lid of the chest, but the drawers don't lock and there's no internal mechanism to keep the drawers closed when the lid is down the way a modern toolbox has. Since it's upstairs, however, and a knife-nabber would have to get through 4 big dogs and my sister's housekeeping... I'm pretty confident that they're safe.

Nice find!
I'd say jewelery box also. I wouldn't worry about locking something that could be packed off under one arm. The tool cabinet would be secure, providing it was bolted down.

Loaded with knives, even a small 26" Craftsman chest is too heavy for one person to run away with. Two guys could carry it easily, but not quickly.
Load up a forty-two-inch cabinet with Becker and ESEE knives... it's probably heavier than a refrigerator.

Sweet find Dale! I store all my knives in Spyderpacs, but I've been thinking that it would be nice to have them more easily accessible.

Now, the problem is that you will have more room and will HAVE to fill it with new knives!

Very nice find! I am looking for something similar. Like you, I have a self imposed limit on number of knives because I want to be able to use them not just store them.

That looks killer for 50 bucks. I'm gonna break down and get something similar for my knives, lighters, watches, and other trinkets. Seems like the perfect homestead for knives.
