Hi, this is my second post so be kind to me.

i thought sharing some pic of my new toy, since there are virtually no thread/info regarding this maker here.

I firstly saw HS/RSI knife when i went to Indonesia to audited one of my client future company. I notice couple of company employee used to carry and odd looking balisong /knife, which i never saw it online or at the magazine. I asked for the maker and nicely they introduce me to the maker.

HS/RSI is an acronym of the maker name and the company he own. HS for Hideo Sawamura, and RSI for PT.Rajawali Sakti Indonesia. It is a Japanese OEM autopart manufacturer.

OK without further adieu lets just jump to pics, shall we.....:D

Next to my EDC for 3 years

That is a beautiful knife! So that is a custom, correct? Are these based out of Japan?

I'm interested in the makers background, you mentioned they are an OEM parts manufacturer. Does the maker assemble the knives as part of their production schedule, or do they assemble these on their free time?

What is the overall length? It looks to be about a 3.25" blade. And what about materials, I assume it's titanium construction, but what about blade material?

yes its a custom and nope not from Japan. Its Indonesian made by Japanese own company in Indonesia (does it make any sense?)
No the company mainly do auto parts but the owner (Japanese guy) also making a knife part time.
its 3" Elmax blade for the folder & balisong. and yes it a titanium handle & clip. Another Elmax for all furniture

Thank you for the reply. That makes sense to me:)

Thanks for the background information. I don't see a lot of makers using all the same steel for their blades, inserts, and hardware. That is also interesting, however it makes me wonder if Elmax is suitable to be used for screws. I don't have much knowledge on the different steels used for hardware.

hmmm i dont think the screw made out of elmax. i believe the spacer/standoff & the insert only that made out of elmax

Oh I see, I misunderstood:o So that balisong is made by the same guy? Same construction too?

Does the maker have a website?

yes the bali too.
I am not really sure bout the bali. he got it on stock when i bought it :)
he doesnt have a web but you can contact him by email. a very nice guy btw.

That's a very nice looking knife!

A little too chunky of a blade for me in thickness, but man that design is sexy! I don't usually like smaller folders either. This one is an exception though.
And I do very much like that the lockbar insert is made out of the same steel as the blade. You don't see that very often, and as long as it is done well, and the lock interface is cut properly, you will see virtually no wear at all through the life of that knife.

Do you know what the pivot assembly is like? For example, does it use washers of some kind, or a type of bearings?

the bali only using 2 pb washer though. the "feeling" on the folder seems like pb washer too, buttery smooth.
