Got my Kershaw RAM and carried for a while,seen the awesome wood scales that Firebert makes and ordered a set. I put them on and took them off, with them on I thought the knife "well" just needed more. Well I spent a little more time with the RAM and here is what happened.

:eek: WOW that is beautiful, maybe you should get bored more often :D

Did you also do a mirror polishing on the blade and clip?

Never really thought of the Ram as a particularly good looking knife, but that one looks pretty slick.

Very very nice, Eric:thumbup::thumbup:

I also would like to know what steps and tools you took to do the mirror polish. I've fooled around with it on a few of my Kershaws and really like the look, but my final finish could use some...well, polish!!:D

This is my jaw hitting the floor. I too am interested in how you achieved such a look.

Thanks for all the kind words.
I took the knife apart and I have a buffing wheel with tight sewn wheel, I just used a few differnt compounds and lots of water so not to get hot, started with the most agressive and ended with the green compound. No one mentioned the missing clip screw, it got shot across the shop to never be found "yet"
I did the back of the blade with a cut off wheel on a air die grinder and water to keep all things cool.

Very nice Eric, that looks excellent, definitely a knife to be proud of. I wish I had that kind of talent for when I got bored. What kind of wood are the scales made of.
