So today I came home from work and my Girlfriend showed me what she has been up to when I was away.
The local squirrels have been getting into her bird feeders and she wanted to put a stop to it. She used a variation of a toggle snare trap I showed her a while back and used some ingenuity to get it done. The ground was frozen so she used a branch wedged under the cinder block to hold the toggle and baited it with a piece of bread and chunky peanut butter. The wire is picture wire she had laying around. The carving was done with her Becker Remora.
I realize this may not be a textbook example but she did it without help from memory and felt confident enough to show me and be proud of her work. For that I am very proud of her.
If we catch one of those buggers we will be sure to eat it!
Thanks for looking.
