I just picked up some hawaiian koa scales recently. Definitely not as nice as Chris' block but in general it is probably one of the most dramatic woods you ever will see. Changes unbelievaby in the light when you move it around. Not cheap by any means but boy it sure is some goregous stuff.
 
Yeah, Koa is beautiful. This is some outstanding stuff. Its the best Ive ever had and one of the best Ive seen. I sent a pic to my most used wood guy because Im going to get him to cut it for me. He said he couldn't believe I got it for the price I did. He said that is the grade of wood pool cue makers buy and put on 3000.00 sticks.

That'll look great on my Birthday present to myself in march. I'm thinking wide blade EDC.
 
Yeah it would OF! I made a couple wide blades this month and really like that knife. Im going to try and stock up on some more Koa if I can afford it. I would like to have 10 sets on hand. Even if its not as nice as the block above it still is beautiful wood.
