WOW!

I've never seen these before..the two tone finish and the wave??!!

When were these made? Can you provide some info regarding the background of these knives?

Thanks

Paul

Damn Ross! Some guys have all the luck!!

The knives are custom CQC-8's with the Wave. They are not a 2 tone finish. They are satin. the 2 tone effect is a by product of the scan/photo.

I am afraid thet there is really no certain way to get one. The secondary market and/or a good deal of luck is really the only way with the suspension of custom orders. I would imagine that these knives are worth in the area of $1500-2000 a piece.

nice score

Derek" I have an order in for a ES1-M, is it possible to change custom orders, I really like this waved CQC-8?

Hi Ancient SUL, I know there is at least one more of these floating around out . I tried snagging that one up too but wasn't lucky enough to get it. Maybe if we all get together and scream really, really loud Mr. Emerson will make a production model that, would be easier ($wise) to use, or throw it in the Custom/Production line which should be starting some time soon...........right, Derek?

There are some differences between the two. The first obvious difference is that the screws and clip on the prototype is Black-Td. The screws are also flat heads on the ones that hold the clip in, while the screws in the clip on the newer one is phillips heads. The clip on the newer one is a real sweet satiny finish.

I kinda like the grips on the newer CQC8 better than I do the prototype's. The contrasting black and stainless steel looks pretty cool to me. I think it will look a lot better in the long run if carried compared to the Black-T which I think is known for not being extremely durable.

The lanyard hole in the grips for the paracord in the Prototype doesn't go all the way through the micarta spacer blocks it. While on the newer one it does go through.

Mr. Prez, Derek hit the nail on the head they aren't two tone, but that would be really cool if they were.

buchard keep the order in. I had the ES1-M also and that was a cool knife. It's just my desires fall on the CQC8 and with the wave I'm helpless. I don't think you'd be disappointed in the ES1-M. But if the 8 makes your blood stop like it does me then I'd start searching for the one I didn't snag. Because if I find it there's no saying what I'd do to get it

If Ernie were to make one of the custom line available through the "C/P" line, I'd like it to be a waved CQC8 also.

I know alot of folks would like to see the CQC6 done as a production piece, but as it's the "original", I'd like to see it remain custom only.

John

(P.S. Ross, Nice catch)

I was going to use that one to leverage a deal for a date with Sophie Marceau!!!!

Oh and by the way if you ever do grow tired of that one.......let me know I think I know someone who MIGHT be interested in it.

Congrats man........pretty nice peice, huh?

Scott....I don't think fan is a big enough word. My wife is starting tear up Maybelline ads with her in it or draw up mustaches and blacked out teeth on her if she doesn't tear them out.

She makes my heart flutter just as bad as a CQC8 does.

I agree with John, the CQC-6 should stay custom only. That way when you say you own or carry a CQC-6, everyone should know it is a custom Emerson. I was amased at the repsonses from knife dealers at gun shows when I would display the CQC-6. I did not realsize the cult that has grown up around Emerson knives and now I am involved in it.
