Look what I just got!

I have been thinking about getting a Sebenza for a while now and just hadn't taken the plunge. I even took a ride to a local store that has them to check one out in person. Once I held one I made up my mind. That was yesterday, and look what I find on ebay today! I's been carried already so I don't have to cry over the first scratches. For the price I can't complain about a little wear and tear and there is always the refurb for $21.

:D

I intend this to be my new EDC. I've been trying out quite a few knives for this role to no avail. I think the sebbie will solve this problem. I am not to worried about the wear and tear but is nice to have the option of restoration just in case.

Good price. But the lock-bar looks to be travelling a bit far over according to this fuzzy picture, considering it only has been carried 4 weeks.
I hope it's better after a good cleaning.

He did say that he had bought it in 2002 and that it had been stored with his collection since then with the exception of 4 weeks of carry time. It's hard to tell with the fuzzy pics. I should get it on wendsday so I will be able to tell then. The only thing that causes lock overtravel is the lock face not being hardened enough and erroding down right? CRK does harden the face so why do you think this would have happened?

Will22, I think it's very unlikely that the lock has worn out (in 4 weeks of carrying), or that it left the factory this way.
I've seen on my Sebenza, that if I dropped it from about 3-5 foot on a wooden floor or on carpet, that the lock travelled further then normal. I've also had it travel further while squeezing it very hard when cutting wood.
All the times, after I took it apart, cleaned it and put it back together, it was always back to perfect.
If you get it as shown in the fuzzy picture, I suggest you clean it with the procedure linked in my signature. I would be surprised it that didn't fix it.

Good luck,
Ted

Giving it a good cleaning is one of the first things I had planned for it anyway. Now I have to search for my little bottle of miltec.
