Hey guys, I havnt posted much lately because I have eagerly been eagerly awaiting some GEC's to arrive here in Kenya, Africa. One of my buddies is here visiting so he brought them to me. I ordered them a while back and have been patiently waiting for them. Here is what arrived from Old Hundred Collectables... Boy's Knives in ebony (single blade), Scout Trapper 73 Pioneer Bone, Farm and Field Bullnose. Bob was even kind enough to throw in a blade key and book about GEC. I have to say, when I saw those little tubes my heart skipped a beat. I plan on hard using all these knives over here so what I am about to say really isnt a big deal. The first thing I noticed on the single bladed models was they were both off center. They arent rubbing I dont think but my OCD goes crazy when I look at them. I think by far my favorite is the 73. It's classy and very functional. I'll post up some pictures I took with my iphone below. Thanks for reading.

nice pioneer bone, its interesting to see the size of the boy's knife relative to the familiar #73. I'm not bothered by off-centre blades on a single blade knife.

I'm learning to not be bothered by it. These are my first truly traditional slip joints. I have never owned a Case or anything like that. I came from the "Tacti-Cool" world. Is it common to get a GEC single blade off center, or is it not a big deal at all in the traditional world to have that? I'm just a rookie so I will learn as I go. I am very happy with the knives and they will see some good use over here.

Off center blades drive me nuts as well be it 1 or 2 blades. So much so that for example when I bought a #25 Little Jack from Bob at Old Hundred a while back I emailed him and asked him to double check and make sure the one I'm getting has a centered blade and no blade wobble as those are the two biggest deal killers for me. He was very kind in doing so and even if he thought I was being an anal weirdo he didn't say anything lol.

Great collection of knives!
I don't worry about blades off center unless they rub, but that's just me :)
Enjoy your knives!

Great selection you have there. Absolutely love that 73:thumbup:
For me, in a user I don't even think about off center blades when closed. It has absolutely no bearing on the functionality of a knife. Those three will surely serve you well! Congrats!

Very nice haul you got there. Time to put them to work and make memories with them.

Have a great day,
Jeff

Nice knives - I like the torched bone look on the 73.

Congrats on the nice haul!
