I went out today and when I came home I found this on my back porch.

An 8'6" long 3"tube. It weighs 60lbs

Here it is peeking out:D Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics

That is 1.375" diameter 416 stainless

A whole 12feet of it:thumbup:

I can see some laminates in the near future;)

I like the Big Brown Gnome. He brings me presents. I was looking through my ebay watch queue the other day and came across this listing. The first time I read it I saw 12 inches. Thought it was a bit expensive. That was about 3 months ago. When I looked at it the other day It said 12 FEET. Not so bad then, only $2/lb delivered. Better than the scrap yard prices.

chop saw with a warn out disk + a propane tank= "oops. sorry honey, i kinda blue up the house where you where out shopping"

Yup, wore out the disc, actually 2, on my dry welding WIP. Actually I was getting propane when the gnome showed up. Had not had a chance to put it away. The stainless was cut up on the band saw. 3 nice 4' sections.

Chuck, looks like there's a Fastenal in Salem.
You could just order it from them and get it as you need it - 3 feet at a time.
That's where I get my 416 for fittings.

Looked at Fastenal and the only 416 of any size is keystock, the 1" square and is 12" long and costs $175 and weighs 3lbs. I got 60lbs for $120. If they have any other shapes they do not list them on their website. I do know were to get flat, from Fry Steel but it is very expensive also. I don't mind forging it out so the lower cost works for me.

Yea Don I know, I still have a couple hundred feet of your W-2. I am tempted though to get a box of that really big stuff you got. HMMMMM my birthday is coming up.

I ran a little of the 2-5/8" W2 under the new Little Giant yesterday. Was fun! :D

That stainless laminate stuff does look good, and W2 core would be cool.

That's the plan. I'll see what happens soon as I get caught up.

Just noticed, NEW Little Giant?? What size is it?

Yep - Fry Steel is ridiculous on the prices.
Don't know what to say about the Fastenal web site.
I have a hard copy catalog and when I put the part number in their SEARCH box, I get the piece listings.
They have 416 round stock from 3/32" up to 6 inch round in their catalog.
Sometimes, it's just nice to order a three foot piece and have it the next day.

The 1 3/8" # is 0992935.
Compare prices!

But I think On line metals might be cheaper per foot, but then you've got shipping, etc. I believe I used On Line Metals last time.

Yup, the part # works. I will have get the catalog. It is running almost 3x what I paid. I went back to the ebay listing and it is closed. I can only find one more listing for 416 from the Co I bought from. There area a bunch of others for a bit more $$. Anyhow thanks for the link and when I run out I can look at Fastenal again.

That is a nice hammer. It probably hits pretty hard too. Now you need to use it enough to get it to look like your other one. ;-)

Thanks man! It hits about 50% harder (runs a bit faster too) than the old one and the
old one was the best running 100 lb LG I've ever been around :D The photo was taken
last July, it's not that clean and shiny now... You must have missed the New 100 lb thread ;)

I probably saw it but I can't remember yesterday mush less 6 months ago.

Still it is always nice to have a new toy. I still need to fix mine though it is running, actually better than ever. Need to get a couple done for orders then I can fix the hammer right. Might even put a REAL foundation under it.
