A boat load of custom Busse Variants. We just installed a bank of new grinders and I couldn't help myself. I've been grinding for 4 weeks to gear up for this show. I'm sending a truck load of Variants to Marc Fratello and the rest are going to Indy.

This sample blade (Unfinished) sports a combo grind on a 3/16th thick Steel Heart E. It's a flat grind on the primary bevel and a sharpened deep dish hollow along the spine. It's the best of both worlds. :)

Yours in nuclear Variants,

Jerry

When is the Indy show?
As well, I've asked this elsewhere before, but where can one find a concise list of shows (other than on your calendar Jerry ;))?

Come on lucky lotto number Wednesday......

What can I sell, what can I sell?

Jerry, will you take my son in trade?? Are indentured servants illegal?

Don't let 1WB's see that, he'll wait until I just get to the table before he buys it ;):D

Nice Knife :D:D

3/16", satin finish, double edge.....you have been busy :D . That thing is very graceful...can I say that about a SH? Oh, I forgot about RonyBear's SH.

Beautiful knife Jerry, looks gracefully mean :D !

Do you need someone to drive that truck?

Looks like I found my new EDC:D

Don't worry guys, I'm not going to be there until Sunday;)

Y'know Jerry, that blade comes so close to exemplifying my definition of the perfect knife it's terrifyingly scary!! :D :D :D

I've often thought that the hollow ground Randall 14 with the sharpened clip edge had it backwards. I wanted a knife with the primary grind flat ground for chopping and the sharpened clip to be hollow ground for cutting, not vice-versa. Handle configurations virtually always dictate that you won't chop with the clip in any great degree of comfort. So why grind the clip as the chopping edge??? Cutting & slicing will exert a lot less pressure on your hand than hanging onto a whacking chopping stroke, so let the "less than optimal" handle hand position be the one to deal with the less stressing activity.

But this SH variant has it all: flat ground primary chopping bevel in 3/16" stock for deeper penetration, the killer Busse asymetrical edge, a deep hollow ground secondary edge, and all done up in INFI. What more is there to want, except maybe that it come with a Basic 7 handle?? ;) Lovely, mon Capitain, absolutely lovely.

Yours in nuclear drooling,
Greg

Jerry, I was going to go to Sunset Beach, Treasure Island, FL, this weekend, to stay with my family in a beautiful $1800 a week art deco house in a pine and palm oasis on the sugar white beach 100' from the water for 2 weeks. (The check will bounce, but we'd be long gone...) The lovely Claire (you know her well telephonically) has given her permission for you to take my place. My son will work as an unpaid apprentice for 4 years, and my daughter (I draw the line there...) will bring you your CBLs as you sit in the jacuzzi watching the sun set in a glorious canvas of deep reds, ochre, purple, and orange.

All I ask is first bid on your new masterpiece.

Send me a private message and we can quickly work out any minor details.

Yours in Nuclear Hallucinogenicity,

John Richmond

RokJok,

I agree. I love having a secondary edge for cutting while leaving the primary edge set up for heavy chopping.

In regards to your handle suggestion, I could send it to Cliff Stamp for a handle job. He has discovered a way of fusing micarta with Resiprene C. It involves an acetylene torch, a soup pot, and a huge can of Bondo. ;)

Sharpenough, I have been slammed with email on this blade already, but you were first in, so I will contact you off-line.

Oh, and CBLs on a beach? I'm not sure that the extension cord to my grinder will reach that far. . . .but I'm willing to give it a try. ;)

Thanks

Jerry
