... what you needed" ?

We're talking about Becker knives here on this sub-forum, what in the heck does need have to do with anything?

Truth be told a fellow could make do with just a BK2, or maybe just a 9 and a Tweener, or maybe just a 7 or 10; what fun would that be?

Kudos for you on showing restraint and due respect for the BK9 but, as we all know, Becker knives are like potatoe chips. ;)

Well it was logical, I got my BK9s where I need them and one in reserve. Need is what usually gets me to get a tool in this case a knife. The BK 9 full fills the need for a large multi-tool use large bladed knife. I was thinking of getting a Junglass 2 for that. But realized 3 BK 9s can do what it does. That's all.

or mod your spare 9 to knock an inch or so off the end and give it a sheepsfoot/parang-ish look - like Dex used to do.

Modified sheepsfoot would be nice. You dont see many of those on a large fixed blade.

I prefer my Becker BK8.5 Seax...
Although I've wanted the Original Junglass, but have since bought too many Becker's... :)

Seax is always sexy in my book.

But i like variety as much as the next knife nut. Ive thought of the junglas as well as the rtak for these reasons. Brand loyalty has a place as well. Not to say that i dont support esee or ontario along with kabar.

Adoreable, Need ain't got nothin' to do with it. Go get you that Junglas.
You deserve it dammit.
Naw I'll save the money and get another BK, might have to get another 9 due to a relative might be selecting one of my to many knives I got. The BK 4 is NOT on the table for that one, he can have the OKC Kukri instead if he wants a American Kukri pattern knife. BK 5...maybe.

I also got a RTAC2 also, really not much use for it myself I found.

which RTAK2?
the older 1095 3/16" spine or the newer 5160 1/4" spine?
Junglas is a refinement of the older RTAK2 - in some ways, it's sort of an RTAK3.
Junglas 2 is an 8" Junglas -- so you lose 2" of blade, a little weight, and move the balance back towards the hand so it feels more like a 9.

RTAC2 is .19" 3/16" spine and an FFG.

My RD9s are 1/4" with the blade height is shorter so it acts more like a saber grindish a bit with its FFG.
