Hey guys I'm lookin for a new light....my current EEC light is a nitecore d10.... I like it but want something brighter t carry....I'd prefer aa batteries.....I need a pocket clip ...it can be a little bigger but I'd like it to still fit in a deep pocket.....I have a budget of like a hundred bucks tops....what I don't want is an on off button on the side of the light....I'd like a button on the end of the light....I had another light and it kept going off in m pocket...ryan

I would consider something other than AA but it'd have to be something I could use with rechargeable batteries....ryan

Four Sevens Quark Pro QP2A-X is 2AA, 280 lumen max, tail clicky (slightly recessed on Pro model, slightly extended on Tactical model--I find I have less accidental fires from the Pro), reversible pocket clip (deep carry clip available as accessory).

I know you specified AA, but since you MIGHT be open to rechargeable take a look at the Quark Pro QP2L-X with Burst Mode. It will run on regular cr123a or the rechargeable version (voltage range 3v-9v). Max 780 lumen. It is insanely bright for a light its size. Good luck.

Thanks for the suggestions guys....I like the idea of the burst mode....can anyone recommend rechargeable cr123 batteries?.....ryan

I can't, I use the disposables. However, I can tell you that I get the disposables from battery junction (.com) and their Titanium cr123a are very good, and inexpensive. Run time is something like 95-98% of the Surefires. They will definitely have some options, good company. I believe they've got some chargers on sale right now, too, if I remember their e-flyer correctly.

Might want to run a google search, something like 'best rechargeable 123 battery candlepowerforums'

I use the LFP rechargeable batteries sometimes. They don't vent O2 so they won't blow up like the RCR123s if anything goes wrong.

They also run 3.0v instead of like 3.8v on the RCR which can fry some lights.

Ryan- If you went with say a Fenix PD32 you could run rechargeable 18650's and also have the ability to run CR123's in it. I have a Fenix PD32 and TK22, they make high end stuff. They have the tailcap that you are looking for and can toggle through power setting with a rubber side switch.

Olight S-10. 320 lumen on a single cr123 and just over 500 if using a rechargable. Simple, small (barely longer than the battery) and has several cool features. Under $50.00 too.

Thanks for the suggestions guys....it might be a while but I'll update this when. Get something...I definitely wanna get some rechargeable batteries for my light ...ryan
