Lookin for some info

This is my first post and i am looking for some info on making throwing knives.I guess i will make them from a large saw blade or somthing.I would like to find out were to get templates and info on making these things.By the way love the site but i cant seem to edit my avitar for some reason.i apreciate any information possable and thanks for your time

If I were you, I'd try to mimic a basic design like this:

They are usually 12-16 inches long and about 2 inches at the widest point. Also, watch the width of the knife; if it's too thin, there's a good chance it could wobble in the target and fly out. I've had the problem with steak knives.

Im also not a knifemaker by any means but If you want to make them because you dont want to buy them, I look at grage sales, local doller stores, etc. for any large fixed blade knives hopefully full tang. Then take some time to sketch a design over original blade and grind them down to fasion a throwing knife. I works for me, dont care if it looks haggard cause it will be used to throw, yet i try to make it look good : )

Yet if you want to make them to make quality blades, someone else will answer
