Hey all. Well as somewhat of a former unknown of Rat/esee knives knowlage, I am most happy I came to this forum, and looked at all the pics, blades, usage, and from what I have come up with is *I WANT SOME* OK here has been my small problem. I have found a site for a price for a Junjlas $175.00 this seems very good. But as I searched other sites (Many) I can't find a pic or price for 2 others I want.? Best place/price for a RatMastiff Chopper, and best place/price for a Ratweiler Chopper. It seems that some (lookin at collections here), have different color micarta handles? Any info about the above will be very well absorbed. A Thank You in advance for the good people here. I really want these to test, and from what I have seen preforming, go into my forever collection. Thanks again for any help. Enjoy the weekend all. edgy.
P.S sorry if this has been asked before, but those 2 other models I just could not find?

The Junglas is the only one of the 3 made by ESEE. The other 2 are swamp rat knives and you can't buy them from a dealer. You have to preorder them directly from the swamp rat...buy the Junglas :D

Hope this helps...

you just demonstrated a significant part of the decision to change the name of the cutlery company from RAT to ESEE.
Swamprat knifeworks is part of the Busse family. If you check their forum and their site on the exchange, you may have some luck finding a chopweiler or Ratmastiff. Best of luck!
You might also check out the Scrapyard site - they have some similarly styled blades and are still Bussekin.

OTOH, $175 delivered is not a bad price for the Junglas, but with a little searching you may be able to find one for less, especially if you find a dealer who offers free shipping and/or a bladeforums member discount. (or those folks may all be out of stock for the moment)

best of luck finding what you want!

I have a Scrapyard and a Swamp Rat. Both are great blades and I will always be on the lookout for another. But, the great thing about ESEE blades is that they are every bit equal with any other knife and they are not special order. Also, I don't think you can buy as much blade for the money as you can with ESEE. I love all things sharp but I keep adding more ESEE's because of their quality and availability.

+1 for the Junglas

There are lots of good knife companies out there - but stick around on the forum a bit and you'll see how the loyalty and respect we have for ESEE & DPx are returned.

Hey all. I want to thank all of the above for the info. For much needed advice, this is the right place to come.! I just learned quite a bit with your replys, very interesting. I did'nt know about a "forum discount" I will look in to this and by the end of the day, I will at least have a Junjlas sent my way. Thanks again.! Enjoy. edgy:thumbup:

Junglas ESEE,
The other two have not been in production for years & are made by Swamprat
