It's that time again...the itch. Looking for something new & I came across the Tradition. Seems it ticks all the right boxes, they have a few review videos here & there, but I can't seem to find any real good comparison vids. Reason is, I'm not sure if I'd like the small or the large. I love my large Inkosi, but I also love my MD Gent. Love the BM 950 & also the MD Crux. Is there any way to get a good comparison w/o throwing down for both? I'm also open to suggestions of other blades that in the price range that tick those boxes. All suggestions welcome.

Edit: Sorry, forgot to mention. I'm looking @ the S35VN, Ti handled ones.

The Tradition is priced at MSRP from $60 to $266 depending on the blade steel and frame/scale materials used. I'm seeing street prices it for around 15-20% less.

I own 5 Artisan Cutlery knives -- the Waistline, Shark, Zumwalt, Hornet and Dragonfly -- all in the cheaper D2 version for around $45-50 each. They are all well made and were worth the price that I paid but I wouldn't say the same for same knives using premium steel/materials which would have cost at least 3x's more.

So, if you like the design of the Tradition, I'd say that buying it in D2 is an easy choice but if you are considering knifes using better blade steels and other materials there is a wide array of other knives that you could consider; far too many to mention or list here.

Then I wouldn't bother w/an Artisan.

The knife that immediately comes to mind is a ZT0562.

You can get it in G10/Ti w/S35VN in standard form for about $200 or in all Ti w/CPM 20V (which is arguably a lot better than S35VN) for about $280. I've got a standard ZT0562 G10/Ti and it's rock solid. It's considered one of the best ZT's available and is my favorite among 26 ZTs that I own.

If you want a bigger knife, you could go for a ZT0560 G10/Ti version instead but it's discontinued and it's catch as catch can on the 2ndary market.

You can't go wrong w/either one IMO.

Dern, the CF one is bang on, but the $260 is around $100 more than the AC & is out of stock. Still, it's on the list. Thanks!

Have a Waistline.. Excellent F&F, flips real nice, great in hand.. Like the D2 steel.. Came razor sharp.. Highly recommended here!!

I've got one of the Hornet models on the short list.
I just can't decide which one.

Ok, I bit the bullet & got the 1702G-GN ordered. Would've gone blue, but the only Ti knife colors I don't have are purple, green & red. Full review when I receive it. Thanks to all for adding even more blades to the growing list.:thumbsup::thumbsup:

So, you went w/an Artisan after all. Interesting . . . Enjoy! :)

Yeah the only others that tickled my fancy were above the $200 range. Besides, someone has to do it...;)
