looking at one of these 2 for a good all around large blade for zombies, chopping and splitting wood and hacking down berry vines and branches, which would you get and why?

I've used the Cutlass for all of those tasks... No zombies yet. It's a great blade and I'd not hesitate to recommend it. It also excels at slicing apples being thrown at you!

i absolutely love my khukuri

Oh, hell yeah. Wanna see pics. I finally finished stripping mine, and putting a wicked sharp edge on it.

Took it out vine clearing, and the first swipe was at a good size 2" tree hanger. Went through so easily, I about buried the blade in me.

So, I put it up for while until I'm ready to take it back out again. I got scared. :D

PICS!!!!!!! OR GTHO!!!

:D

In just got both, I like the feel of the kukri better but both look like they are very good quality for imports. Have not tested, the sheaths seem pretty poor but I knew that going in. I plan to get out this weekend and clear some trails at a fishing club and dress my diuck blind with them.

For real machete type use, the kuk or the cutlass is too heavy and too short. For fooling around or defense, they are fine. In heavy brush or jungle clearing, length and light wt are your friends, I'd try the grass machete myself.

In addition, if you want to split wood, get a hatchet or an axe. I mean using what you have in a survival situation is one thing but a knife, kuk or otherwise makes a damn poor substitute for a hatchet when it comes to making kindling or splitting bigger pieces of wood. The weight is not right and the blade shape is not right.

handmade in America buy dragon forge on etsy. com I had him add the black and yellow g10 scales and drill the hole above the handle normally his kuks come with paracord wrap handles so it was extracost me $120 normally $100 I think it has a scandi convex grind chops like a beast weight is 2.3 pounds blade is a little over 13 inches shes forged from a leaf spring and her name is THE BOSS right now she's in calforina having a sheath made for her since she didn't come with one and I've been using a crap sheath I made myself

the boss really is a sight and is truly worth the money. low drag and big chopping power

around here what i have is blackberry vines and they get the size of small trees, the kuk does wonders on them i must say the thin hollow grind makes it slice though them like butter, it can also hack off 1 inch thick tree branches with ease, the chopping and splitting wood is a bonus imo as my 2 primary roles are filled with it.
