Looking at a new multitool

I've decided I really need a bigger pair of pliers then on my SAKs for work and general around the house maintainance. I've been looking at three MTs as a possible replacement.

1) Leatherman Blast
2) Sog pocket power pliers deluxe
3) Sog paratool

These are going to be belt carry and used moderately hard, and I'm looking for feedback from anybody who has used them.

Blast is good. Sturdy and all but I replaced it with Victorinox Spirit X and I am happier. Spirit X is better for my hands. Blast is in my b.o.b / day hike bag.

Personally I'd go with the Blast. Seeing the list, I take it that you have around 50$ to spend.
And I agree with thejamppa. Spirit is a great tool and not too heavy. I think that it can even be found for around 60$

I had a Paratool and it was just fine. I sold it, but I don't remember why. Probably in my poorer school days when I wanted a different toy.

For what it's worth, Wally World has the Victorinox Spirit X on clearance for $45 on their website. That's a good deal.

Personally I'd go with the Blast. Seeing the list, I take it that you have around 50$ to spend.

That's my budget. I'm looking for a multitool with a decent selection of bits, the ability to take an adaptor for standard 1/4" hex bits, and preferrably scissors, lanyard, and a puncturing tool.

Looking at the Swisstool's phillips driver, it seems to be very close the the Leatherman's. Could it use the leathermans bit adaptor?

Honestly I haven't tried it so I really can't say. Maybe someone can try it or already has.
If you don't have the bit adaptor it could also be worth looking into getting the "plus" parts of the Vic, just not sure where to look for those other than ebay.

On the other hand a SOG Powerlock might help you out too, and they can be found for around 65$.
Powerlock:
Double Tooth Saw
1/2 Serrated Blade
3-Sided File
Large Screwdriver
Phillips Screwdriver
1/4" Socket Driver
Awl
Can Opener
Bottle Opener
Scissors (component)
Wire Crimper
Wire Cutter
Blast Cap Crimper
Compound Leverage
Medium Screwdriver
Small Screwdriver
Pliers

I don't know about the others,but I like the Blast.The only complaint I have is the bottle/can opener.It won't open squat!Other than that,it is a good solid working tool.

SOG Powerlock 2.0 S60 with the scissors and the gear covers. Don't even hesitate.

I have the Pocket PowerPlier and it has 3 weak points: tools dont lock, the edges of the handles are sharp, and the exposed gears are a problem when you use the philips screwdriver.

The Powerlock with the gear covers addresses all of these issues and offers the most robust pliers (with compound leverage) I've ever seen on a MT.

Be advised its a serious MT though, a real fistful of steel. Its like going from a scooter to a Harley in one step. Comes in a nice leather sheath though and rides very comfortably.

It also has the bit adaptor you want, although you have to buy it separately.

Clang! I have a comparison chart done in excel so hit me up with a mail. It helped a few ppl out already, and it has some comparison links with prices (that's why I'm not putting it here since it can be seen as deal spotting).
And if I recall correctly both the Spirit X and the SOG Powerlock can be found for under 50$ if you look hard enough (again can't say more because of deal spotting). Only thing is that the Powerlock in question has a v-cutter, but you can get the scissors and it's user serviceable from what I know
