Does anyone here have an iPhone? I stopped by the AT&T store today, and had a chance to check out the iPhone. I'm currently using US Cellular with an LG phone, and it's a piece of junk. I'm impressed with the iPhone, mainly due to the wireless internet capability. I am slightly concerned about only having 8GB of storage. (I have about 30GB of music on my iPod, and another 30GB of movies.) I'd hate to buy one, and then have Apple release a 100GB phone a week later.

To those of you with an iPhone, how do you like it? Would you recommend one? I'm not terribly concerned with the price of the phone, and the monthy service plan is the same as I pay now.

Your right...I know...never buy anything when it first comes out. It's just that my present contract is going to expire soon and I've been very pleased with Apple products overall. I need a cell phone of some sorts (I don't have a house phone), so I was leaning towards the iPhone.

Don't pay for someone else's research & development.

There is no R&D involved in stuffing more memory into something these days. Without going to rotating media, they could easily and economically put 32GB in there. Even 64GB would be easy and still result in an affordable product. So, why 8GB? Answer: Marketing. They want to have something they can do to enhance the product later. You've gotta have that constant stream of "innovation" to keep the product in the news and keep in "fresh." That Apple is obviously holding back on memory to use it as "innovation," tells us that they don't have any other feature or performance improvements on the drawing board.

I have a Blackberry Pearl which I am very happy with, and considered switching to an iPhone. Not all reviews have been stellar on the iPhone, though, and it is a little large for pocket carry (which the Blackberry excels at).

I share the others' view that while the iPhone is interesting, it is prudent to wait for the dust to settle.

Of course, if you are in need of a phone now, and accept that Apple may be introducing new and improved flavors, the iPhone does look like a fun toy. Especially the web browsing, which is a quantum leap ahead of Blackberry's pseudo web browsing.

I know you need a phone but you may try to hold off on this puppy if for no other reason than the price. Give it a year and you'll be getting it as the free phone for a contract.{remember the razor}. Just pick up an unlocked phone, pay cash and get whatever service you want without being stuck for a couple of years. I'd bleed from the eyes if i paid that much for a dang phone. ahgar

im a huge fan of macs and apple products and own several(computer, ipod) but i dont see the point in having a phone/ipod if im listening to music or watching a movie i dont to be interupted every 5min by one of my friends texting or calling me, and now that that they have the 160gb ipod classic for $350 theres no possible way i would ever spend $300-400 and only receive 8gb of memory that wouldnt even hold 1/10th of my songs and videos that i would want to be on it

I have a 8gb iphone, and I love it. Its kind of like a SAK it does a lot, but its not the Best at every one thing it does. If that makes any sense?

Its a phone first, but has lots of "other" features that can not be found on most cell phones today. Yes I wish it had more than 8gb, but they will release a 50+gb iphone to renew interest when the fad dies down.

I bet in two years the 8gb will be a rebate type phone like the razr is now.

The real internet (It does not play flash files, and windows media files:grumpy:) anywhere is why I like it so much. The music is nice also, but not the sole reason I bought one. I like the package that it offers.

Ask anyone who has one and they will tell you how much they like it. I haven't heard many "owners" that are unhappy. (Well after the opening day mess ups)

When they release the 2nd gen, I will not wait in line for one but you can bet with in a few months I will have the "upgraded" one. :D

As for the price, thats up to you to decide if its "worth" it. Some folks think 100+ is a lot for a knife.

i know a couple people that bought it when it first came out and paid full price and now with the price drops they dont like it as much as they first did, especially after the novelty wore off...
its kinda like the sidekicks and razrs, when they came out people were flipping out about getting one and now they have a hard time selling them

I'm looking forward to getting one just so I'll be able to easily sync my phone to my Mac computer.

hey, just about ANY Sony Ericsson BT enabled phone can sync with Mac seamlessly… higher models even sync contacts pics

I currently carry an ATT 8525 and will be picking up the new ATT 8925 "Tilt" when ever my local stores get them in stock this week(released on friday but none in stock)

I like the design of the iphone, its a very fast interface but I'll wait a while to buy one. I'm waiting for a few features to be built into them that already easily should and could but I'm uess they left out just so they can release more models with them later: Exchange Server Sync, Built in GPS, 3G Data speeds.

I dont care so much about the memory, 8 is plenty of me.

Using them in stores they seem nice, but I'd wait until they have more memory, are cheaper, and work with other providers.

Well, I didn't buy an iPhone, but my GF did. Overall, it seems like an excellent product. The design and interface is amazing. I'm probably going to hold out until Apple puts out one with more memory. I've got about 30 Gigs of music, so 8 Gigs is nothing. I also don't like that the iPhone is essentially "locked out" of running non-apple applications.

The Internet connection on the iPhone is a bit slow, but acceptable. I'll probably still get one, just not anytime soon.
