Looking for 0.2" diameter pivot.

Hi

I bought a knife that is very robust, the only thing is it's using a 0.2" diameter pivot. I want to replace with a known high quality pivot. BUT I looked around, they are selling 3/16" diameter. I measure my pivot with a precision caliper, it's 0.195". It's not 3/16 = 0.1875" diameter.

Where can I find the right pivot, also a high quality steel.

Thanks

Alan

Also, I was told 0.2" diameter pivot is NOT too small, that a lot of knives use even smaller diameter like 1/8"= 0.125".

Maybe easier to look for a 5mm pivot and then lap it down (which you need to do anyways) ? They have some, for example, on knifekits dot com.

For future reference here is a converter https://www.rapidtables.com/convert/length/inch-to-mm.html

If you measure something in one unit and it doesn't quite line up then it's usually because it's actually made using another unit. I've found this can happen a lot with stuff that's made overseas... there will be one unit on the box but it's actually not made using those units. It'll be close of course, but not quite as listed on the box, and you have to measure it to find out.
