Looking For 1084 Bar Stock - 3/16 to 1/4 X 2 X min. length 11

Walt, thanks. I will try Sheffield first of next week unless I get a reference by someone else here before that. I have a Sheffield cataloge that is a couple years old. In it they have 1084 listed but not in the size I need. I am not optimistic about finding 1084 and especially in the size I need. Anyone having some would probably hold it close by.

RL, I've purchased a lot of 1084 in the past from Kelly Cupples, however I've never asked for that size.

You might fire off a email to him and he'll send his current supply list back to you via email.

is 1086 going to be worth buying?

Just currious of your opinion.......I know 1084 is hard to find now.

Dang Roger, you're all over the place with this thing! :D I just replied to you in the original camp knife thread.

Yeah, I'm still a little flighty after all these years. Thanks a bunch for the link on the 1084. I will wait through the weekend for Kelly to respond to my email. If that is a dead end I'll go with your source. I appreciate your efforts to help me on this.

Roger, Kelly sometimes has to "give up" his computer to a child who has a penchant for re-building them and experimenting. Sometimes it takes a day or three to answer. He is a heckuva guy, though, and you can't go wrong with him.

If need be, PM me and I'll give you his phone number.

That said, I have an "in stock" list from him as of 3/18/04 and the widest 1/4" 1084 he has is in stock is 1.25".

If all else fails, I'd try Admiral 1080 (wince). They have large sizes of 1084 listed, but most is now 1080. Buxton has tested it and it performs in his opinion equivalent to 1084, I believe. Maybe he'll chime in here.

I'm interested too, Roger. Please let me know if you find any.

ok i really should not do this but , here is a place that truely has 1084
