I don't know about this Ford fella...he'd probably come up with something like this.

I'll be happy to do it again if no one else does. Lets just get the order in this week so we have it for 2008:D Nice pick fewpop:thumbup::D, love the blued blade.

I was flattered by the nomination and the vote of confidence and trust that goes along with it. I honestly agonized a good bit about stepping up to the plate when Gus first posted this thread. I have to decline. Don't think too bad of me.
 
No way I could think any worse of ya Rob :D.

The job is a little like herding cats. ;).
1. Start a thread for pattern voting.
2. Start a sign up thread and collect money.
3. Order the knives.
4. Ship them out. (You are going to need a bunch of little boxes.)
5. Put up with the moanin' and groanin'.

There have been a couple of folks who have contacted me off line.

Knife should have some indication of Blade Forums and the year.

I'm eager to get voting for the pattern and then start waiting impatiently!
 
This will be our third one.
Not sure what is meant by a custom build, but we have them made for us.
So far the first two were made for us on existing patterns by Canal Street.
 
Anyone, do you mind posting pictures of first two? Would like to see what has been done before. Thanks,

Thank you for the picture and the link, how long do you guys usually wait before getting an order together and how long does it take to get produced? What has been the order count before?

Polls, have they been used before?

Seems as if several polls were published for all the questions normally asked, it would not take long to get BF members opinions, then get an order placed. But me being a newbie in this forum I do not have all the information I am sure would be needed.

We started talking about this knife early this year. Then we got one pattern, which took about a month, then we got the cost and paid the money. The thread for when this thing was ordered was July 11th of this year and we have no knife yet. So, it takes awhile.

We had less than 50 knives the first time and a few more than 50 this time. To me, we seem to be getting the knife for cost, plus shipping. I don't think anyone is making money, except of course the company making the knives.

The first knife took a little less time, but if you are somewhat impatient, this is not the knife for you. It is something to look forward to. Whatever knife we come up with, you can be sure it is unique.
 
No one here is making money the knives are distrubuted to those who order at cost. That will be the only way we do a forum knife as a group.

(If you consider the time and guesswork on shipping costs the coordinator is doing us a big favor and most likely will loose a few bucks and quite a bit of time for the effort.)
