Hey everyone, I realize this has probably been covered before, but I'm looking for sturdy 3.75 to 4 inch blade. I currently have a bm 710 in d2, but I'm looking for something with a better steel (elmax, zdp-189, m390, m4, Cts steels) that is the same size. I know there is going to be a lot of endura and 810 recommendations, but I'm seeing what I am missing. I want them to carry small, like the 710. Anyone have any ideas? Budget of ~$200. Thanks!

You said it the 810! Not just the reg Contego but the Knifeworks LE in M390, sans glassbreaker with blue black g10! Plus shipping it comes in just under $200

I'm just wondering what else there is. I am well aware of the 810 and have it in my cart, but I'm just seeing what else there is before I pull the trigger.

I'm looking at the spyderco manix 2 xl at the moment. I also own the spyderco endura 4. The spyderco stretch is a good one and so is the paramilitary

Not a fan of the para, actually trying to get rid of mine. Stretch is interesting, just doesn't seem large enough. Does the manix xl have any better steels than s30v?

Also, How do you feel about the the endura? My wife has a Delica, and it seems okay, but maybe a little on the flimsy side. At least it feels that way

You could get a spyderco military in s90v but it will cost significantly more than the 810. My m390 810 gets here tomorrow. The primary benefit of getting the millie would be that it is a lighter knife, but both will carry larger than the 710.

I am leaning towards that 810. Just exploring options. There is a zdp-189 endura, I just don't know if it is gonna be a sturdy knife. I love my 710, I just want another blade that is similar. Been looking for other versions of the 710 as well. Can't find any

810 definitely doesn't carry small like the 710. If you're willing to bump up to 810 size, you might want to check out the Spyderco Military because it's the same closed length but thinner and much lighter, and being out as long as it has, there have been a million different sprints.

You sir need a Spyderco Military (sprint?)

I recently picked up a manix xl in s90v but you can only get them on the secondary market now. It's awesome and carries just fine in jeans. I've been using it as my edc since I got it about a month ago. All the knives you're considering are good knives from what I've seen, but the contego, military or manix will all feel more substantial than the endura, but I have a couple of FRN knives and they are all awesome.

A caly 3.5 in zdp would make an awesome acquisition as well.

Lionsteel looks a little in the big side...I was trying to look for something else besides spyderco, but benchmade really only has the 810 or 710 that interest me. Spyderco has a lot more options it seems. Just saw the ulize...that looks good. Does anyone have any experience with this knife?

The Strider SMF has a large blade and comes in many great steels, although the over all blade is almost 4 inches the cutting edge is not nearly as long. Still, a great large size knife. Also, the Grayman Satu might fit the bill, but I am not sure what steels they are available in.
