Howdy,

I am looking for a big fixed blade Buck knife that a friend of mine carried in Nam in 1963. He was an Advisor and into some pretty hairy stuff. What models #'s would have been sold at the PX's back then?
Sorry I dont have anymore info on the knife. Any help would be great.
Thanks,
Larry

Although several models were available at that time, I have been told that the 119 and 120 were commonly carried during the Vietnam War.

I agree, the 119 and 120 were the most commonly used in that time period. I actually have a 119 from that period. Instead of the edges of the blade being squared off, they are smoothly rounded and all grind lines are not as clean as they are now.

Thanks for the replies. I found an example of both the 119 and 120 and have sent my friend pictures. Hopefully we found the one. That 120 is one big knife. Might just get one for me!
Thanks again
Larry

P.S. Thanks to Phil for pointing the way. He was right on with the 120 as well.
