Looking for a Benchmade...

... I am looking a Benchmade knife that fits requirements:

- Sleek and slim
- S30V blade
- Axis lock
- Anything BUT metal handles. I can't stand metal handles on one hand folder.
- Non-assist.
- Blade length 2.9-3.4"

So what are my choices? I had BM 940 Osbourne. It was sleek, S30V and Axis lokc. I just couldn't stand the aluminium handles and it just wasn't knife for me. I never connected to it like I did on my Grips or Spydies. So I am looking now alternative, which would primarly be slim and sleek while having axis lock.

I have two Griptilians, regular and mini currently. I like them alot. I just wanted something more... sleek. I really like axis lock (though it was most annoying lock ever to disassemble and then re-assemble when I made scale swap for my large grip). So I am now looking what would be my alternatives?

thank very much in advance for suggestions.

I doubt you can do better than a Ritter Grip.

+1 on the 930 Kulgera, which was my first thought as well. The blade is a tiny bit longer than what you were wanting (3.6") but otherwise it fits your requirements perfectly.

I know it's a little bigger than 3.5" (3.93") and the steel is M390 (better than S30V IMHO), but there are only a few left. And when they're gone, they're gone.

KW 805-1101. Best darn Benchmade ever made.

I do not own this picture.

How about a Benchmade 530? The regular model has 154cm though. The REI blue edition is S30v

All looks good. I have to say I like way Kulgera looks like. 530 looks good too. I might "downgrade" steel to 154cm as its very fine steel aswell. That 530 is amazingly thin. I think I have found my knife. Kulgera is very nice but breaking near $200 in here, makes sure it will stay on shelf for while. Thanks to VAT. But 530 is very nice looking. I am sucker for spear point blades. I got BM 527 with quite good deal. The Mini-Presidio Ultra looks nice but was bit extra I admit. I hear Benchmade makes 440C very well, henche I bought it. That ain't exactly a thin nor sleek, which made me make this thread. Looks like BM 530 is everything I am looking without breaking a bank.

It looks now that once I get enough money, I will go for 530 route though its thinness.

Gold class 940 with fiberglass handles!

I think you could actually get someone to make fiberglass handles for a 940 for you...

if you liked the 940 i say try and get some custom grips for it instead of getting a whole new knife im sure there are plenty of people on the knifemakers subforum willing to do so

G10 handles on a 940? . . . how about carbon fiber? . . . I could definitely go for either of those options . .

i have to stand with you on the 530...i bought mine about 3 or 4 years ago??? idk but it was a while ago! and ive beat it to hell...working in construction its seen some better days...it is an amazing knife you will love it gaurenteed you will even forget its in your pocket its so small!
