Hello all, and I hope everyone is doing well today. I am looking to have a custom knife forged that I have a decent amount of specifics I would like, but that probably limit whom could and would be able to make my knife for me. I have a Cold Steel Bushman bowie that I welded a nut in the top hollow of the handle because I have a 60 in tool handle (like for a rake) that I epoxied a threaded rod inside the hole intended for a rake or hoe head, and it allows me to affix my bushman bowie onto it with a perfect tight fit and then have a spear. I would like a knife made with the same handle shape and dimensions as the bushman bowie (with also the welded nut or similar that allows for the knife to be attached to my stick), I also coated the outside of the handle with plasti dip for grip, comfort, and a barrier to the steel on cold days... but I would like the same with a blade of 4.5-5" scandi grind edge, 90 degree spine, 1/8 in thick, 1.25 in wide at the base of the blade, spear/drop point, magnacut steel, a little jimping... a really nice bushcraft knife with the handle fit of the cold steel bushman bowie for my stick (able to be affixed on with the threaded rod on my stick, and either plasti dip on the handle outside, or something similar). I imagine cold steel is able to make their Bushmans with machines that do the work inexpensively but a custom knife that is made to have those same dimensions, I imagine would require quite a bit of skill and being that I would like such made with magnacut, I imagine not all bladesmiths use or are experienced with it.... so, is there anyone on this forum who could and would be interested in being the bladesmith for this knife, we could exchange emails and I can send pics of my bushman bowie, stick, and sketch of what I want and sheath design I would like for it, and we can settle on price and timeframe... thank you
