I have looked a for perfect bowie knife for a long time but never satisfied my taste. I like the traditional design but also looking for modern benefits. Two knives caught my eye recently. Pics attached shows what I am looking for. I am wandering the AG Russell California Bowie made out of 154CM at or over 59RC makes it a bit brittle as it's over 8 inches long and not thick enough at that hardness (less than 3/16"). But, love the design as it's a balanced blade (hold it on 2011 bladeshow). Now, Fallkniven NL2 is also a great knife but hate leather washer handle and VG10 steel. that edge also hard to sharpen in the field. Let me know if you guys know who makes similar knife but without the disadvantages. Prefer Micarta handle and full guard. Plus like the idea of the sharpe false edge.
