Looking for a Buck Folder

Greetings.

Back in the mid-late 90's I had a Buck Folder that I loved.. It wasn't anything out of the ordinary, which makes it a bit hard to describe obviously - and I can't find any pics of it. But I bought it at Wal-Mart and I think I paid around $45 for it. As I recall, there were several models and options to choose from like serrated blade, and a separate "gut hook." Mine had the non-serrated blade, and a black handle with rounded end. I also seem to recall them coming in different colors, and I kinda remember seeing a blue one.. I think.

Anyway, I know it's an odd question given such limited info and no pics, but does that ring a bell with anybody? And if so could somebody point me in the direction of where to get another one?

Thanks in advance!

Sounds like the Buck Crosslock 180, 182 or 183. I had a single blade Crosslock that I let get away. Wish I had it back. Check the internet for one.

There was the models 428 or 429 selector that interchanged blades. About 7 or 8 different blades were available. Valox plastic handle available in black, orange, or olive drab. The 428 was a 2 blade knife, one fixed, one changeable. The 429 was a single blade handle. The blade size is the same size as the 110. Introduced in 1990 the time frame would fit yours. Out of production for quite awhile, they can still be easily found on eBay or elsewhere. They are getting scarce but not rare. Buck reintroduced a similar knife a few years ago as the model 550 and is currently available.

edit... OH well, looks like I guessed wrong.

Wow, that was quick - AND you are correct sir! I looked it up and it was indeed a Crosslock 180! Thank you!

Now to find another one....
