Looking for a Buck pocket knife

I'm interested in a decent pocket knife with a medium sized blade (2-3"), and a good grade steel (ATS-34 if it's available). I like the 110, but it might be a little too large to carry in my pocket on a daily basis.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

KP

There's this one: Alpha Hunter

But that may also be a bit big according to your specifications. I think there was a mini one, but I can't seem to find it.

And yes, the 110 is too big and heavy to be carried in a pocket every day, but it works great for sheath carry.

I would highly recommend the Buck Collectors Club 532 with desert ironwood inlays and BG-42 steel. They come with a light leather pocket pouch should you desire to use one and they are scary sharp. The club still has a few of them at $97 including shipping. The 532 has a 3" blade and a mid-body lock release system. With Paul Bos heat treat, Buck quality and the very nice desert ironwood, you cannot go wrong.

A great time to expand the 501's.I'm sure they are popular enough to justify it.Look at the Stag handle ones they did a couple of years ago. Gone in 60 seconds!!

Larry,

I'm not a member of the collectors club. How can I get access to one of these special 532's? I would like to get one on order today if possible.

Brian,
Contact John Foresman, who is club president. By the way, this would be the perfect time to join our outstanding club! The newsletter articles, all by themselves, are worth the fee.

kphunter: How about the Buck Adrenaline BU-178BK; 3" blade, liner lock, ATS-34, Ti liners, and pocketable. I've tried the Adrenaline in a local store and it's a pretty nice knife. It might be my next Buck purchase.

Or maybe the Mini Taclite BU-886BK, discontinued but probably still available.
I recently bought the bigger Taclite 885, the store also had the 886BK, both very nice knives.

I love the 532s and own four, including the BCC desert ironwood. They are probably my favorite Buck knives besides the Buck Mayo. I would think the original poster might also want to consider a 112 with a bg-42 upgrade, since he liked the 110 but thought it was a little big.

Brian,

I am on vacation down in Florida. I checked in using my father's computer. I will be home in one week. I'll email you then. Thanks.

John,

I'll wait patiently. Enjoy your vacation and the time with your dad. That is much more important.

Thanks,

Oh,

KP, I got so excited about the prospect of a 532 that I didn't have that I forgot to mention that the Buck 500 series are great EDC knives. Ranging from the 500 which is about as perfect as you could expect, to the miniscule 505. The 500 is now discontinued but can be found if you really look. It is basically a slimline 110 that is a little shorter and alot slimmer, basically the exact same thing but comletely different ;) . The 501 is pretty close and easy to find. I rotate a 501, 532, and a Mayo in my day to day activities. The 501 roughly the same size as the 532 just a little thinner in stature. Any of the 500 series knives make great EDC pocket knives. Take a look at them you will not be disappointed.
