I have recently fallen in love with the barlow pattern. I want to get a good looking good quality barlow for EDC at work. I would preffer carbon steel, and I'm looking to spend less than $75. If anyone can point out some good models from reputable companies that would be great. I have looked at case, and queen so far.

Thanks for the help :D

Böker do some, if you are patient you may find one of their 'Russell' Barlows. Very good quality&finish comes in many handles including stag and sawn-bone, Clip or Spear master.

Older Case barlows will have carbon steel blades. I don't know when they switched to stainless. Something from the 70s is your best bet; steel will be carbon, it'll be before the 80s when quality was thought to decline, and it won't be so vintage that it'll be expensive and too valuable to use.

Boker makes barlows in carbon steel for under $50. They also make them in stainless steel, so make sure you know which you're buying.

actually this request is not all that difficult a one. their are many vintage barlow patterns old & new w/carbon steel blades on the bay all of the time. i recently got a older schatt & morgan barlow in real pretty brown bone w/2 blades barely used for $29. + shipping. my camera is in pieces otherwise i'd be proud to show it off. good hunting.

I'd also recommend GEC. They are right in your price range. They are a little small at 3" but very pocketable and very well made. Nice half stops and 1095 blades. Here's one I got recently....

I would strongly recommend looking at whatever old stuff you can find at flea markets. I've seem more old carbon barlows at my local flea market than any other knife. Good luck

It's pretty easy to find brand new German-made Boker barlows in carbon steel. Great looking knives, and often under $40.
