Hello,

I am looking for leads on a kit I saw a long time ago. It is credit card sized, has a magnifing glass, very small compass and some survival instructions.
Anyone have any leads on finding them?

Thanks in advance,
Doug

DON'T BUY IT!!! The instructions are dated, the "compass" is next to useless. The lens works great, but doesn't make the "kit" worth the price.

Really.

Go to Wally World in the school/office supply section, and buy a fresnel lense for like a buck.

Determine what instructions you need, type them out, and print them out.

Get someone to laminate them, or buy self-lamination (cause you know you'll be doin more) stuff, probably there are Wally world too, or an office supply store.

A small compass isn't that intrusive. Easy to stick in a pocket.

Just MHO...

I just posted the link, but I agree with CF. You'd be much better served with Pocket Survival Pack. It's a small kit that will fit in your pocket but contains a lot of useful stuff.

The Adventure Medical POCKET SURVIVAL PAK is a nice well thought out kit, but I still would prefer to make my own.

There's always been the ToolLogic Credit Card Toolkit. This is probably the most popular type of credit card survival dealie you can find. Their site is here: http://www.toollogic.com/ and they have a whole bunch of different versions with different stuff in them. More recently, Victorinox made their own version of the ToolLogic credit card called the Swisscard; a fairly equal, albeit alot uglier, toolkit.

I personally don't own any pocket kits like this, so I couldn't recommend what to go with. But overall, I would have to say the ToolLogic ones come with alot of good reputation, and they were in fact the first to come out with these. :)
