I really want a new slip-joint folder but I really don't know where to begin looking. I am looking to spend from $150-$300..:D

You can get a very nice slipjoint from Tim Britton in the $250-$325 price range.

He does offer some really nice knives. That helps get me started in the right direction. Thanks

There is one for sale right now in the knife maker's section of BladeForums. Always a great resource for custom made knives!

Moved to Traditional but I'm going to re-move it to Customs.

Lots of good advice in this thread! Everyone is ready to help spend money. :p

My advice would be to watch the For Sale : Folders section in the exchange. If you see something you like, you have to be quick. A lot of the folders from talented makers will sell in a matter of minutes from when they are posted.

Your price range is pretty much bottom dollar for a custom slipjoint as those links above demonstrate. If you are picky about fit and finish, you may need to throttle back your expectations or increase the amount you are willing to pay. You should be able to get a nice "user" from a newer maker. Another possibility is to buy a better quality custom slipjoint that's in used but good condition. I'd suggest looking at the customs for sale section too.

I will raise my price as high as needed to find the knife I want. I do appreciate the input from everyone and I will keep looking and will post what I end up with when I find it.

Brent Cramer is your man! Check out his website (www.bdcramerknives.com) for stunning knives at bargain prices. This guy is going to the top !! I own the Black Shadow (if a Tony Bose is a 10 - then Brent is a very good 9 1/2 !!). Hope this helps.

Thanks for the kind words Colin... but I think you may be over rating me a bit!!! :o

He's got years on me and his stuff is as close to perfection as a man can get. I'm still trying to become accomplished at single bladed stuff while
he is the master of all things traditional!
