I am interested in obtaining a large D-guard bowie knife. I am really looking specifically for a replica civil war era confederate D-guard, not a modern looking tactical knife. I'd like the blade to be at least 12" long. Ideally, I'd like to keep the cost under $250.00. Any advice?

in an Atlanta Cutlery catalog. I don't know if it would be a good user but it might look nice on your hip if you were at a Civil War re-enactment. Or you might check out some of the makers on the forums if you wanted a user. Good luck.
