Looking for a low profile, damascus steel, neck knife, or for that matter boot knife. I'm currently using the randall triathlete in that capacity. I love the triathlete, but it has a relatively thick leather sheath. A little bulky in the boot. My preference is skeletal handle. Any suggestions?

my good friend don eargle sells some customs made by another good friend, max burnett of ogg knives...you might like it,heres a link.http://phoenixblades.com/max_burnett_line.htm

you will have to scroll down to see it. these two are chainsaw blade damascus, but i think you could talk him into another type.

both don and max are good fellas who stand behind there work, and i really think you will be happy should you decide to go with them.

(and no,im not getting paid to do this commercial ;) )

About the coolest neck knife I have seen is the damascus F4 from Kit Carson. Neater than heck. It didn't have the skeletal handle that you prefer, but if you look at it you won't care. The number of pieces was limited, but every now and again you see one pop up for sale.

Do a search for it and you should be able to turn one up. There are many posts and pics of it here at BFC.

Just want to add this picture of a Damascus F4 by Kit Carson that I stole from a post by PhilL about neck knives from awhile back. This one has a stag handle of course.

Bud Nealy makes a few damascus bladed knives that include a neck sheath. I had an Aikuchi with a 5 inch blade, and it was SWEET! I have since traded it, but most of his blades can be had for under $300. His kydex carry system is awesome! Allows for 9 different carry positions including boot clip, neck chain, belt loop, etc. He makes the Aikuchi in 3 1/2", and 5" as well as the Kenzhal(sp?) and a few others. He uses a clad Meier(sp?) damascus that is just beautiful! For outstanding quality and a cool sheath, you can't go wrong.

Definitely check out that link that Maurice gave you there. Max indeed has a sweet piece going with his chainsaw damascus necker.

Proud of you guys.
Some great suggestions! Between Max, Bud and Kit no way to go wrong.
Add Ray Kirk to that list too. (of course there are quite a few others, but those guys came to mind first).

If you are going to wear it next to your body. Keep it waxed up and clean it every night (the knife that is :)). (especially if you will be in a hot or humid environment).

Darn Keith, that knife looks prettier every time I see it. :D
You did forget to mention that it's one of 33 that Kit made from Daryl Meier Damascus and it's the only one with Stag, (thank you DonE, Kit & the boys).

Here's the pic I sent to Kit before he decided if he'd even do one in stag.

Gus beat me to it, but I am going to add my vote to Ray Kirk. Awesome knives, and you won't deal with a better man.

this man can do some AWESOME stuff with 52100.

heres an example...
little brother swiped Joeker.
little brother used joeker to cut wire (i coulda killed him).
little brother slips while using the wrong tool for the job.
little brother now needs 8 stitches in two fingers.
little brother makes attempt to wash blood off of knife.
little brother leaves both blood and water on knife,IN SHEATH.
knife developes a patina, and rusts right at the tip.

all this, plus a fair amount of usage.

Joeker still shaves. :D

by the way, this is one of the knives featured in an article in TK mag several months ago...was very cool to see my knife in a magazine.

throw in another vote for the bud nealy series, i saw a sweet little wharncliffe at my local b&m shop.

Hi
for a neckknife i prefer the short ring-grip -
and Günter Böhlke made this one to my wishes as a present for my wife.

This is stainless Damast made by Markus Balbach,
bolsters of titan,
scales of reindeerhorn,
sheat with fossil-mammut-push-button-release.

If you dont like the grip,
you can see more of Günter`s work (+ his "very nice" prices)
at his HP: http://www.gb-knives.com/start_en.htm
