I currently wear two decent pairs of shoes to the office: one black and the other brown. I have two gunbelts: a black Galco (awesome carry belt) and a brown Detroit Leather Co. belt. The Detroit Leather belt is nice, however it is 1/4" thick bull shoulder leather and is a bit chunky when wearing khakis.

I belt carry mostly in the woods and never at work so I'm looking for a nice looking leather belt. I don't want a cheap reground leather belt, I'm looking for a durable length of good-looking genuine leather. I wear a size 36 belt if that helps.

Check out fox creek leather. They do mainly motorcycle leathers, but carry belts too. Single piece of leather.

For dressier stuff, I hit Allen Edmonds when they have sales. They are an American dress shoe maker primarily.

I'm wearing a Filson #205 1 1/4" Double belt right now and it is one of my favorite belts. They also make a single layer version and both are available in 1 1/2" width. The double is 1/4" thick and I haven't had any issue with khakis in the 1 1/4" width, but I can only wear the 1 1/2" width with jeans or field/work pants. I have Bison belts from Coronado Leather and from Trask that I rotate with the Filson that are very well made as well.

Custom belt would be the way to go. Lots of talented leather workers here, can make anything to your specification.

Good factory-made belt, a little cheaper than Filson: L.L. Bean Essential Braided Leather Belt.

Another vote for Filson, and also for Trask, I have several of both and they are handsome simple belts.
