I'm a fourth year med student, and the weight of all the books, paperwork and other BS in my coat pockets is trashing my back. I've carried shoulder bags in the past with no problem.
I'm thinking an old-school surplus messenger bag would be perfect, but I've a few limitations.
- Cheap. I'm a student, remember?
- US-made preferable, issue a plus. Had experience with US-issue camping gear for years, and it simply holds up better.
- Anything but camo. OD or desert would work, black preferred.
- Has to be able to carry a standard 8.5x11 pad.
Anybody know a place to look? I'm running down a bunch of the surplus stores I know, to no effect- lots of junk.
