Hey Guys,

I'm looking for a deep riding EDC folder.

I've had a SOG Flash 2 but sold it off, because I just didn't like the knife. This one had a good clip that made the knife almost invisible in my pocket.

Which brands/models have the same feature as the SOG, deep pocket carry?

My Spydies all have good clips, but don't ride very deep in my pockets, so please don't advise Spydies (I also have enough of them..:D )
Let say a price range of $50-$100?

Thanks,
CZ

My new Alias II rides waaaay low; probably about 3/8" showing.

If you want to stay with SOG, my Twitch I shows only about 1/4" above the pocket hem. That's the lowest one I have. If you want to go a bit bigger, I expect the Twitch II is the same 'lowness' as the I.

Get a Seki City Bob Lum Encounter. They have low ride clips, D-2 steel, G-10 or Micarta scales and come in two sizes.

Most poeple don't know about this knife but it is only about $100 and makes most other $100 knives look like crap.

Sorry to suggest a Spyderco after you said not to, but I don't think you have enough yet ;)

Both the Caly3 and the UKPK have a wire clip that is very unobtrusive and places the butt of the knife flush with the top of the pocket, maybe 1/16th of an inch shows.

Guys,

I never thought about the Caly3....stupid me.....enough Spydies jsut doesn't exist.....:D

I'll give the Caly3 a look.

But are these all the options I have? Mainly SOG or Spyderco? Does Benchmade has a few "lowriders"? What about the Rukus, does this one ride low too? The Almar has also crossed my sights, but I wasn't sure about the normal Sere 2000......

Any more advise?

Thanks,
CZ

here's a shot of a mini-rukus in pocket...

That mini rukus is looking fine! What about the large rukus? Does is has the same clip with the same amount of handle sticking out?

Thanks!

Another vote for the Caly 3. The clip is very unobtrusive. I carry it clipped in my dress slacks at work. Actually, it's the only knife I carry clipped at work...all others are carried in the bottom of pocket.

Both Rukuses ride low in the pocket, but both exceed your $50-$100 limit. They come in just below $150 (615) and just over $150 (610). Another great low rider, entire knife goes in the pocket with no knife showing, only the clit, and that is the Blade-Tech Rijbak ($175). All three are great.

I agree with dcfireman it definitly rides low.But it is also a great knife. You have to try it to believe it

The thing about the Calypso Jr. is that it has a wire clip. It also rides really low. A wire clip is going to be less visable than a standard sheet metal clip.

I think STR was making lowrider clips why dont you find a knife you like and ask if he can make one for it?
