Looking for A Discontinued CS Fixed Blade

I'm looking to replace a a Cold Steel Bush Ranger that I sold here and wish that I hadn't. :(

I had the Stainless AUS8 model - marked "Japan" on the tang. Not interested the Chinese Krupp or CarbonV steel models.

A suitable replacement might be a nice path as well. The knife is 7" SS blade, 5 1/4" handle and no handguard (to speak of).

The knife I sold is pictured below. Are there any fixed blades around which would make a suitable replacement. It's light and fast - so I don't want a tank if I can find a replacement in this size range. Thanks! :)

Thanks, I never thought of posting a thread there. Maybe someone has one?? :)

No problem, I posted there a few times for knives I wanted and always got emails/PMs on the knives I was interested in.

Yup - you shouldn't have sold that one. I have one I bought from a member a couple of years ago, and I love it. Definitely a good replacement for my Buck 119 (for harder work). I have the old one in Carbon V, and a Camillus/Becker BK7 in the same steel, and it's good stuff.

Good luck finding one - they do show up on fleabay occasionally.

I think I'm kind of settling in on the Ka-Bar Becker BK7. I'll need to do some searches on it for reviews here by members.

I'm going to use it so the finish doesn't really matter a lot now that I've thought about. The size is identical OAL.

But it does feel heavier in the hand; the Bush Ranger is a hidden-tang design, the BK7 is a full tang, with cutouts for weight savings - this also allows a small kit to go in the scales. I like the grip of the BK7, because my hands are larger. I'd feel better about using a baton on the BK7 than I would with the Bush Ranger.
