Hello,

Ever since I really started collecting knives about a year ago my dad took interest in them. So for christmas I going to buy him one. He'll be using it for you normal edc tasks. He works in Los Angels so 3 inch is the max on blade length and hes left handed so I think lock backs are my only option other then customs. Under $100...

Thanks,

Chris

this is an easy one; spyderco delica 4 ffg

In addition to lockbacks, Axis Lock folders would be another lefty-friendly option. The Benchmade Mini Griptilian and Mini Bone Collector would be worth a look.

I agree with the Chapparal. Also check out the slightly larger Spyderco Sage 1, which is a liner lock It feels incredibly classy for the price. Stretching your budget a bit there is the Caly 3.
In fact i can't say that any of my other knives are more precisely put together, it is that refined.
These options are better gifts in my opinion than a delica or endura. The carbon fiber and luxurious smooth operation make it a more desirable gift.

As an aside, i am left handed. I typically close a liner lock knife with my right hand which honestly is not an issue.

Good suggestions so far...

I'd also add the Spyderco Dragonfly 2 (or G10 model,) Buck Squire (or Prince,) anything SAK, a nice jigged bone Case slippie, or perhaps a Leatherman tool. You might even have a couple pesos left over to buy him something else as well...

I'm sure your dad will appreciate whatever you pick. Good luck! :)

Way to many options. Are you looking for something modern or traditional? Certain type of blade steel or handle material? What's your preference of blade shape and grind?

Why not a nice case trapper? I don't see why not sense most normal edc tasks (at least not mine) don't require a locking blade.

The Spyderco Delica is a great choice, but not the the full flat-ground. A 'knife rookie' will break the tip. Get the saber-ground instead.
