I'm looking for a good folder probably $70 or less, I'm partial to larger blades and tip up carry. Any ideas would be appreciated

What do you consider a "larger" blade - 3.5"+ ? Usual EDC tasks?

Can't go wrong with either of these two...

Spyderco Endura
Benchmade Griptilian

I wouldn't go any larger than a 4" blade for EDC- unless it is for a specific task that requires one. I would look at blades in the 3 - 4" range for EDC.

I like my Benchmade Griptilian - very solid workhorse of a knife

check out the kershaw line of folders. i'm sure you'll find something you like. i have a needs work and a shallot.

Spyderco Tenacious

3.38" blade
G-10 Handle
8Cr13Mov steel
$30 (Great price for a knife like this)

Or

Go with the Griptilian like the others say.

Well, there are a number.

  • Byrd Cara Cara
  • Cold Steel Voyager
  • Cold Steel Recon 1
  • CRKT M21-04
  • Cold Steel Gunsite II

The Benchmade is a good knife, too, as long as you get the plain edge. I never have cared for Benchmade's serration pattern. The knives above are the ones I have a personal affinity for. I also like a full four inches. Although it might be a bit out of your price range, you might want to take a long hard look at the Spyderco Military. A full four inches of premium grade steel.

+ 1 on the griptilllian. The endura would work too but I prefer the feel of the grip, the axis lock and the blade shape, suprisingly it came sharper than my delica did. with spyderco's out box sharpness reputation being as good as it is.

In addition to what's been suggested, the Buck 110 is a classic in a more traditional folder. There are several variations including a S30V steel Alaskan guide model available from Cabela's.

This knife doesn't have a pocket clip but comes with a nice belt sheath.

im heavily considering the griptilian but there are a few kershaws i might go with still, thanks for the ideas
