He loves the razor blade replacement knives... Like gerber cheap little knife... Pop a new razor blade in on Monday and it's good for a week, at least that's how he does it .

He's getting married this summer and I wanted to get him a nicer model than the gerber.... I know we have a ton of custom builders here so I thought I would ask y'all what's the best replacement razor blade knife out there?

I only have 1 request.... I don't care to drop more than $100 or so on a knife that doesn't even have a blade on it.... So I know that subtracts alot of the custom builders but I figured it's worth a shot to see who all makes stuff like that.

I found one from sergeknives but it's $100....and that I where I'm drawing the line for gift giving.... So sergeknives migjt be what I buy, unless you guys have some good options for me to look at.

Thanks.

Just get him a new Gerber EAB ( there's absolutely nothing wrong with them ) and have one of the craftsman here customize it.
You can have some thin micarta, wood, or g10 attached, and you can have his name put on it.

I have the havalon, several different styles and he just isn't a fan of them.... I don't think it's that he dislikes havalon, he just loves his razor blade gerber....

I love the idea of having a gerber personalized here from someone, that's a great idea.... I'll start researching into that now.... Along with researching the other names mentioned above....

I appreciate your replies, it means a ton to me to get him something that noone else will think of.... When I was married he gave me a edc tool that was handmade and I still carry it 18 years later... Just a pry bar/bottle opener but it's small and 1 of a kind.... So I want to nail this razor blade knife.

Thanks again fellas.

Well, for one, if he loves his utility razor knife so much, he is definitely NOT a knife lover "like us"... just saying....
Secondly, if he loves his Gerber so much, and doesn't like havalons, it is really a hard pressed mission to find a better utility blade box cutter out there, as there isn't really a high end market for them that I know of... buy a milwaukee or dewalt or Irwin or whichever brand of tool he prefers (or pick which one is his favorite color?) But those companies don't actually make them, but rather they are made in China/Taiwan and labeled accordingly...

Best bet imo, buy him the snap-on version... when it comes to "tools", can't beat the "snap-on" brand name...

No, don't buy a Snap-on utility knife.
For one thing you'll just be paying for the name, there's a lot of stuff out their with the Snap-on name on it that is just produced by third parties with licenseing rights and is not up to the same quslqua standards. But I also know Snap-on knives which are available at the AutoZone counter are cheap junk, they're $5 knives that cost $14 plus based on the name alone.

Ok, let me rephrase some of my original post about his likes and dislikes.... Maybe I misled some of ha....

My buddy is a knife lover, loves ML knives and other custom makers.... He also is a huge fan of higher end microtech knives that he can display.... He is more of a display knife lover as opposed to the edc knife lover like me.... Therefore his edc knife use is a razor blade knife.... Not a havalon type blade but an actual razor blade gerber type...

OK, now that we know his resume of likes and dislikes.... My wishes were to get him something in the actual razor blade family but something higher end than a gerber since he does in fact love knives and custom type knives.....the tukk and the Rexford rutt mentioned above are great options and are 100% in the line of ideas that I was thinking of, so thank you very much for those options, I would've have never known about them if not for y'all....

Anymore ideas, hit me up... Or know of anyone who has them for sale, let me know....i appreciate all yalls posts and thoughts and opinions.... This is the place to be.

Spectrum Utilitizer. Just saw these at Blade, thu are freaking awesome!!

Right in your budget, and very nice.

Wow. I may need one of those utilizers. Those look great for lending out to people who may abuse a regular knife blade.

Edit: looks nice, but for the cost the blades don't quick-change (though the way the hex wrench is stored as a lanyard hole is pretty neat), and it doesn't lock open. I like my knives to have locks.

That utilitizer is 100% what I was looking for .. It has the custom look that says you can't get this at home depot yet it also has the blade look that says, I can use this knife all I want and still have the sharpest blade at work.

Thanks so much for your reply.
