So I am looking for a wedding gift for a man who LOVES knives.
(I hope he does not figure out I am on here looking for his gift!)
I would like a recommendation for a good brand to look for.
This man is more of a collector and wood worker. He does not do any hunting/fishing. I hope this helps and if I need to provide more info please let me know!
I appreciate all the help!!

What kind of knife does he usually carry? Folding or fixed blade? Older looking knife or modern looking? And like cj0e asked, budget?

Case, Great Eastern Cutlery, Buck, all have whittlers, sodbusters, peanuts, etc that make great wood working (and utility) knives. Personally, I'd go with a Case medium Congress with the sheepfoot and coping blades, they run ~$65 on my fav site for knife shopping.
Here's a picture (they have other handle options, I just found one real fast for an example):

or if you want to see all the stats and such, you can see it on the site:

All the brands Cprucell mentioned, I think a traditional slipjoint like the ones he mentions are good along with others. Though if you get a Buck make sure it's an american made Buck, this isn't the whole only buy USA products kind of thing. But the ones made overseas for their traditional slipjoints use 420j2 steel which is vastly inferior to the 420HC used in the USA made knives. You have to compare model numbers on the offical website to what your buying as sellers everywhere mislabel those knives in terms of what steel is being used.

My personal preferece on what I would pick up for them would be a Case mini copperlock, I wish I could say I own it but sadly I don't yet but it's on my list of knives to get.
